Publisher Policies

When you monetize your content with Google ad code you are required to adhere to the following policies. Failure to comply with these policies may result in Google blocking ads from appearing against your content, or suspending or terminating your account.

Content Policies

Illegal Content

We do not allow content that:

  • Is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others

Intellectual Property Abuse

We do not allow content that:

  • Infringes copyright
  • Sells or promotes the sale of counterfeit products

Dangerous or Derogatory Content

We do not allow content that:

  • Incites hatred against, promotes discrimination of, or disparages an individual or group
  • Harasses, intimidates, or bullies an individual or group
  • Threatens or advocates for physical or mental harm
  • Exploits others through extortion

Behavioral Policies

Dishonest Declarations

Information provided by publishers must be:

  • Materially accurate and complete
  • Not expressed in a deceptive or misleading manner

Ads Interfering

We do not allow Google-served ads that:

  • Overlay or are adjacent to navigational items
  • Severely interfere with content consumption
  • Are placed on “dead end” screens

Privacy-related Policies

Personalized Advertising

You must not use Google's platform products to select or target personalized ads based on:

  • Activity by users under 13 years
  • Activity on adult, gambling, or government agency sites
  • Sensitive information including health, financial, racial, religious, or political data

Privacy Disclosures

Publishers must:

  • Have and abide by a privacy policy
  • Clearly disclose data collection and usage
  • Inform users about third-party cookies and tracking

Requirements and Standards

Malware and Unwanted Software

You must not:

  • Place ads on screens containing malicious software
  • Violate Google's Unwanted Software policy

Better Ads Standards

You must not place Google-served ads on screens that do not conform to the Better Ads Standards.

Authorized Inventory

You must not place Google-served ads on a domain that uses ads.txt where you are not included as an authorized seller.
